RO-J-600 Reverse Osmosis System

1 · Introduction

Thank you for choosing A Todo Sol. Your RO-J-600 filters your tap water in 6 stages — sediment, chlorine, taste, odour, organic matter, lead and heavy metals — and delivers it on the spot through direct-flow 1:1 reverse osmosis, with no tank and no initial osmotic rejection: the very first glass is already perfect.

With the right care, your system will serve you for many years. This manual covers installation, operation and maintenance so you can get the most out of it. The latest version always lives at osmosis.atodosol.es/en/manual.

Running the system outside these ranges can reduce performance and void the warranty. If you have any doubts about your installation, ask us first.

💡 TDS = total dissolved solids (mg/L or ppm). The light ring on the tap measures them in real time, so you always know the quality of the water you are drinking.

4 · What's in the box

📦 Check that nothing is missing before you start. Is a part missing or damaged on arrival? Call us on +34 692 22 97 13 and we will replace it.

5 · Step-by-step installation

You only need three connections: inlet water, outlet water and waste water. Tools: drill (bits up to 12.5 mm), adjustable spanner, tube cutter or knife, and a cross-head screwdriver. Read all the steps through before you begin.

Fit the feed water valve. Shut off the cold water stopcock under the sink, disconnect the original fitting and insert the 3/8" adapter valve between the water supply and the hose of your existing tap. Check that the sealing washer is in place.

Fit the system's tap. Use a spare hole in the sink or drill one of 20–30 mm (maximum countertop thickness: 3 cm; for granite or tile it may be worth calling in a professional). Secure the tap with its lock nut and connect the tap's data cable to the interface on the back of the unit — that is what powers the light ring.

Fit the drain clamp. Drill a 6.5 mm (1/4") hole in a straight section of the waste pipe, always above the trap (never on a bend or after the trap). Stick on the seal with the holes lined up, fit the clamp and tighten the bolts evenly, without overtightening.

Connect the three tubes (QC quick connect: push the tube all the way in — you will feel it "seat" — and secure it with the locking clip):
· White 3/8": feed water valve → inlet port.
· Red 1/4": waste water port → drain clamp.
· Blue 3/8": outlet port → system's tap.
To release a tube: remove the clip, push the collet inwards and pull the tube out gently.

Flush the system (20 minutes). Open the feed water valve, plug the unit in and open the tap. Let it run for 20 minutes to rinse the fittings and filters, checking that there are no leaks. Then… open the tap and enjoy. Some noise while it filters is normal; it stops when you close the tap.

🧊 The system can also feed your fridge, ice maker or coffee machine: the built-in pump drives the filtered water to every point of use, even with dual or triple-outlet taps. For remote installations (utility room, laundry) or several outlets you may need extra tubing, and the flow rate is shared between them — write to us first and we will advise you on the tubes and adapters.

6 · The tap with light ring

The ring on the tap measures the TDS of the water coming out and tells you with its colour, in real time:

Blue — TDS 0–50 · excellent water, drink with confidence
Purple — TDS 51–100 · quality still fine, check your filters soon
Red — TDS > 100 · time to change the filters

If the ring flashes, one of the filters has reached the end of its life: replace it when you can (section 8). Once you have changed the filter and reset it on the control panel, the ring goes back to a steady light.

The tap also works as a night light (always on): a soft glow that helps you find your glass of water in the dark, without turning the kitchen lights on.

💡 Would you rather use your existing tap, or a dual or triple-outlet one? The system works exactly the same with any tap — you only lose the indicator light. The TDS reading may have a small margin of error; the colour is a guide.

7 · Control panel and indicators

The touch panel has one button (RESET) and the indicators PAC, RO and FULL:

⚠️ Protection mode: if the system dispenses water non-stop for more than 1 hour, it shuts down for safety and all four lights flash. Unplug it and plug it back in, and it will be reset.

8 · Changing the filters — in under 1 minute

6 filtration stages in just 2 quick-change filter cartridges, no tools needed:

Composite filter (PAC)roughly every 12 months · €45 in the shop
Osmotic membrane (RO)roughly every 24 months · €55 in the shop

These intervals are a guide — they depend on the water quality in your area. There is no need to mark it on the calendar: the system tells you, with the indicator on the panel, the flashing ring on the tap and an acoustic signal. Replacements guaranteed until 2040.

Before you start

Close the feed water valve, open the tap to release the pressure and unplug the unit.

Replacing a cartridge

Open the side cover of the unit: you will see the two filter cartridges, marked RO and PAC.

Open the locking latch to both sides and pull out the used cartridge. Tip: press the cartridge in slightly as you release the latch and it will come out more easily.

Fit the new cartridge, matching the labels (RO with RO, PAC with PAC) and close the locking latch again. Close the side cover. ⏱ Done in under 1 minute.

Resetting the indicator

Plug the unit back in and press and hold RESET for 3 seconds: you will hear a beep and the PAC light will flash.

Did you change the PAC? Go to step 3. Did you change the membrane? Press RESET once more to select RO.

Press and hold RESET for another 3 seconds: a beep, the light goes from flashing to steady, and the system returns to normal operation. (If you do nothing for 10 seconds, the system leaves setup mode on its own. Each reset applies to one filter only.)

💧 After changing a filter, repeat the 20-minute flush with the tap open before drinking.

9 · Troubleshooting

The system does not switch on

Try a different power socket (sockets meant for waste disposal units may not be compatible) and check that no cable connection has worked loose. If the problem is the socket under the sink, replace it or consult an electrician.

No water comes out of the tap

Check, in this order: that the feed water valve is open · that no tube is kinked · that the cartridges are properly seated · that the inlet and outlet tubes have not been swapped. If the system dispensed water for more than 1 hour non-stop it will have gone into protection mode (all four lights flashing): unplug it and plug it back in.

The flow rate is low

Check for kinked tubes or leaks at the connections, that the water is between 5–38 °C and the pressure between 1–4 bar. With well water, use pre-filtration: large particles clog the filter and shorten its life.

Dark water comes out when the system is new

This is normal: it is carbon dust from the new filter media. Let the water run for about 5 minutes (or complete the 20-minute flush) and it will be ready.

The filtered water tastes like tap water

Check that the waste water tube (red) has not been connected to the tap by mistake, and that the cartridges are not past their life — if they are, replace them.

The water tastes bad or smells odd

Most likely the PAC filter is saturated: replace it. If the system has not been used for a long time, change both cartridges and purge the system with a full flush. Also check that the tubing is connected as described in this manual.

All the lights are flashing

Protection mode, after 1 hour dispensing water non-stop. Unplug the unit and plug it back in.

Water keeps running after closing the tap

The solenoid valve may be damaged. Close the feed water valve and contact us: it is covered by the warranty.

It makes a noise while running

A soft hum while filtering is normal and stops when you close the tap. If the noise is excessive, the filters may be blocked or the incoming water quality may be poor: check both.

The water takes a few seconds to come out

If the system has not been used for a while, this is normal and does not affect its operation.

The light on the tap does not come on

Check that the tap's data cable is properly connected to the interface on the back of the unit.

10 · Warranty

Your system has a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase, with a valid invoice, in line with European Union consumer guarantee legislation. Behind it there is an installation company with more than 800 customers: if something fails, we answer.

The warranty does not cover:

Always use original A Todo Sol replacements — if a fault is caused by third-party parts, the warranty is void. For repairs outside the warranty period or scope, our technical service is still available (with parts and call-out charged).
